Gympie Golf Club ‘Golden Oldie’, Del Groundwater, outdid all the Ladies on Saturday when she scored a hole in one on the 16th – her first at Gympie Golf Club. There was great excitement in the group (I was one of the excited witnesses) and I’m sure all of Gympie would have heard us.
It was such a brilliant shot and well done Del.
You are amazing and an inspiration to us all.
The Gympie Golf Club Pennant team travelled to Twin Waters on Monday (5 June) and tied 3 all against the Nambour team.
Last Wednesday, 7 June, Gympie ladies played a Single Stableford competition.
The winner was a very excited Julia Webb coming in with 35 points – well played Julia.
Runner Up was Clair Thorburn with 34 points.
Bev Maddison (31), Jean Peters, Stella Macklin (29), Lorraine Elliott and Sandra Yarrow (28) won balls in the Rundown.

Helen also won the Accuracy Drive on Par 4 – 4th with Julia Webb recording 2 Ferrets.
Stella Macklin (14th) and Julia Webb (2nd) recorded Nett Eagles.
Maureen Carroll is off to enjoy her coffee compliments of Little h Cafe, Exhibition Road, Southside.
Thursday (8 June) six of our ladies travelled to Cooroy for their Ladies’ Open Day.
Bev Maddison was the Overall Winner with 36 points and Sandra Yarrow won Division 3. Well played ladies.
It was another perfect day for golf, Saturday, 10 June, when ladies played a Single Stableford.
Winner was Stella Macklin, playing some great golf, scoring 39 points.
Runner Up was Junior, Charlotte Rensonnet, just two shots behind with 37 points. Well played.
Karen Mills (35), Lorraine Elliott, Lydia Costello (34), Del Groundwater (33) and Dorothy Bramley (30) won vouchers in the Rundown.

Debbie scored a total of 108 points for the month with Sandra Yarrow (102) and Carol Ward (101) not far behind.

Tomorrow, Saturday 17 June and Wednesday, 21 June, ladies are scheduled to play Stableford competitions.
Don’t forget the Mixed Foursomes Championships over 27 holes on Saturday 24 June and you will need to organise a partner for the 2 Person Ambrose scheduled for Wednesday, 28 June.
Ladies don’t forget about the blue lines around the greens – please do not drive over the blue line around the greens or park in front of the greens unless you have been issued with a special ‘P’ plate.
I heard on my return to Gympie about the Queensland Country Press Association awards won by “Gympie Today” recently.
