WARWICK, R.I. (WPRI) — David’s Bridal will soon close its only Rhode Island store.
The retailer, which specializes in wedding gowns and other formal wear, announced on its website that its Warwick location will soon close for good.
The stores in Dartmouth and Natick will also shutter, according to the website. The North Attleboro store does not appear to be closing at this time.
It’s unclear exactly when these stores will close for good.
The Pennsylvania-based retailer filed for bankruptcy back in April, just days after announcing it would be laying off 9,200 employees.
Despite the filing, the retailer is assuring customers that its stores will continue to fulfill orders without delay.
“Customers should not expect to see any change in the unparalleled service level they have come to expect from our Dream Makers,” the company explained.
The future of the retailer remains uncertain, though David Bridal confirmed it is in search of a buyer.
“We are working as hard as we can to find a buyer to bring the iconic David’s brand into the future,” the company continued.
The retailer didn’t specify how many employees would be let go from the three stores, but affirmed that it is “…trying to preserve as many David’s jobs as possible.”
David’s Bridal currently has approximately 300 stores across dozens of states.
