Actor and radio show host Danny Bonaduce is looking well after his recent brain surgery, letting his followers know with a new image that he’s now working on his recovery. Recently, Bonaduce announced that he’d been diagnosed with hydrocephalus, a neurological disorder caused by fluid buildup in the brain. He underwent brain surgery on June 5, hoping that this would cure his hydrocephalus. Just under a week later, the Partridge Family star shared a new photo on Instagram of himself on an exercise bike, noting in the caption, “On the road to recovery.”
“Looking good and on the way… all the way back,” Barry Williams of The Brady Bunch says in the comments section.
Bonaduce’s rep, Paul Anderson, also confirmed to Radar that the surgery “went really well.” He also said how the former child star is eager to get back to entertaining and interacting with his fans, but for now, Bonaduce is encouraged to get more rest, and he’s expected to be back home within the next few days to continue his recovery.
“His wife wisely took away his cell phone,” Anderson said with a laugh. “He’s coming out of recovery and anesthesia and painkillers. Danny hates to disappoint, he’s been a SAG (Screen Actors Guild) member since he was 3, so he loves to chatter and perform, but he’s just got to get his rest. But the surgery went so well they expect that he’s going to be able to go home in the next few days to rest.”
Anderson added, “I assured him his fans can wait a few weeks. I’m so proud of him, he’s such a great talent, such a great human and his wife is amazing.”
The Legacy of The Partridge Family Lives On
The Partridge Family endures, forever holding a place in television history as one of the most memorable shows of its time. That’s why it seemed like the end of an era when the house used to represent the Partridge home in the sitcom was recently demolished. That was something that Bonaduce also addressed with a post on Twitter in April, sharing some photos from his final time visiting the location.
There is also fresh news that just came in about The Partridge Family, as it was revealed that an animated reboot of the series is in the early works from Sony Pictures Television — Kids. The reboot will follow a “Black family from Brooklyn’s Bed-Stuy neighborhood that operates a food truck.” No information has yet been revealed about the characters or any cast members, but a voice cameo from Bonaduce would be a fun Easter egg for fans of the original series.
The Partridge Family aired for four seasons from 1970 to 1974. The series, which follows a family of musicians who go on tour after the patriarch’s death, starred Danny Bonaduce, Shirley Jones, David Cassidy, Susan Dey, Suzanne Crough, Dave Madden, Jeremy Gelbwaks, and Brian Forster.
