Damian Lillard fed trading rumors with his most recent move. About a week ago, Portland’s super star started an internet “fire” during an Instagram live video, in which he pronounced the words “Where am I going this summer? They want me to answer I’ll go to the Lakers… man, I’ll go to the Lakers”. And now, with the reports of him listing his $7 million mansion on sale, Trail Blazers’ fans keep wondering if it’s time to say good bye to him.
Well, apparently, not… Although it’s true Damian Lillard’s property is on the market, it was pointed out by Sean Highkin from The Rose Garden Report that his decision on that was made only to build a new hose around the Portland area.
So, according to his home plans, Lillard might not be considering moving soon… Or is he?
Damian Lillard wants to contend for an NBA ring
In the past, Lillard has expressed his desire to play for a title-contender team. This last season was nothing but disappointment for Dame. Portland finished 13th in the NBA Western Conference, and once again, didn’t reach the play-offs. If Trail Blazers doesn’t commit to rebuild, he might opt out of the team.
Of course he’s far away from free agency. In 2022 Portland’s star signed to a four-year deal worth $176.26 million with the Blazers. So in order for him to exit the team, a deal must be reached with another one.
On the past years Portland raised hope with C.J. McCollum, Jusuf Nurkic and him, but now the first one is no longer on the team, and the Bosnian center, after his injuries, just hasn’t been the same he used to be.
It’s rumor season on the NBA, and a lot of teams might raise their hands for Damian Lillard. But, as for now, he keeps answering to Portland.
