- Wild 18th house party on Gold Coast leaves locals furious
- Father who hosted event said he ‘doesn’t give a s***’
It was branded ‘Fynn Fest’ – a wild 18th birthday party that left residents furious but the teen’s father says he ‘doesn’t give a s***’ about the hate of neighbours.
On Saturday night Gold Coast teenager Fynn Andrews threw a wild house party which resulted in multiple phone calls to police for noise complaints.
The following morning the Anzac Parade residence in Burleigh Heads was also littered with food wrappers, empty cans, eskies and tarpaulin.
An angry local resident shared the images of the party on Facebook calling it a ‘wild street festival’.
She warned everyone to ‘watch their step’ as cement blocks obstructed the footpath along with food and booze strewn across the street.
The Gold Coast teen shared some of the antics on his Instagram from the night he dubbed ‘Fynn Fest’.
His dad told the Gold Coast Bulletin that neighbours were informed about the party and said he even hired two security guards to make sure it didn’t get overly rowdy.
The father – who asked not to be named – denied the party was ever out of control and said the music was lowered at midnight out of respect for locals.
‘I know people were upset there was a (tarp and fencing) put up – it was pulled apart in the morning,’ he said.
‘It was actually to protect the street so everyone wasn’t p***ing and s****ing in their yard.
‘I don’t give a s***. I don’t care what they say in the papers.
‘Because I know one of the people who complained, we have lived here a lot longer and put up with a lot more than her.
‘So she can go stick it where she wants to.’
Queensland Police say they received multiple calls about noise from the street on Saturday night but did not attend the premises due to ‘other operational priority jobs’.
‘Fynn Fest 2023’ was shared on the 18-year-old’s social media which consisted of party pics in front of a homemade Fynn Fest banner and multiple snaps of him living it up with friends.
The party appeared to have a professional DJ set-up, a dancefloor and festival lights.
There was also a stubby shared to social media which had ‘Fynn Fest 2023’ printed on it.
On the teen’s social media, partygoers described the night as ‘iconic’, ‘bonkers’ and ‘fynntastic’.
Others, less impressed, labelled it ‘buffoonery’ and ‘out of control’.
