Head coach Carl Forster offered his full backing to the players ahead of the trip to Midlands Hurricanes and he was repaid handsomely with a 42-14 victory.
Not for the first time this season, North Wales Crusaders enjoyed a promising start to a league contest.
Hurricanes were forced into a knock-on inside the first minute and just a minute later, it was the away side who had the lead.
From the ensuing scrum, it was Crusaders’ turn to show some great hands to secure a converted try.
Things would get even better for the North Wales outfit when they stretched their lead after 11 minutes.
Josh Lynch intercepted and he had the pace to race away fully 90 metres for the score, which was duly converted by Brad Billsborough.
The visitors continued to have the better of things as Owain Abel went on a 40-metre run, only to be denied by a cover tackle.
A penalty had already been awarded for offside and this was nudged between the posts by Billsborough.
After a brief spell of Hurricanes’ pressure, try number three arrived after 20 minutes.
Jake Burns outstripped the home defence to score under the posts and Billsborough was on the money again with the extra two points.
Crusaders’ defence was aggressive during the first half, forcing their opponents into a number of errors.
The visitors also spurned opportunities of their own, however they did make it 26-0 with seven minutes of the first half remaining as individual brilliance from Billsborough saw him over the line for a converted effort.
Cru’s lead was extended to 30 points late in the first half as Rob Massam bagged a try.
It was business as usual when the second half got underway and just two minutes after the restart, Paul Nash crossed for the next score.
Hurricanes refused to throw in the towel, though, and they gained their reward with half-an-hour left via Bailey Dawson’s unconverted try.
Back came the visitors and Abel collected a pass from Shaun Costello for a 62nd minute try, which was again converted by Billsborough.
A Crusaders’ error gave Macauley Hallet the chance to run in for the home side’s second try late on.
Nathan Hill then grabbed try number three as the home outfit ended the contest strongly.
