Adelaide fell to Gold Coast by 25-points at Darwin’s TIO Stadium on Saturday night.
Nine straight goals before and after half time helped lift the Suns to the 16.16 (112) to 13.9 (87) victory.
The Crows kicked five consecutive goals in the first quarter, the best of which came via some Luke Pedlar brilliance, to open up a strong early buffer.
Rory Laird was leading the midfield charge as the visitors pressured Gold Coast into a number of hurried kicks they were able to rebound and send back into attack with interest.
When Wayne Milera finished a sweeping movement that saw the ball transition from the back pocket without hitting the ground to his fluent finish on the run from 45m, the Crows led by 35 points early in the second quarter.
That’s when the Suns’ intensity lifted as they battled back into the match.
Bailey Humphrey’s right-foot snap before half-time, after bursting through an attempted Nick Murray tackle, was a team-lifter as the Suns piled on nine straight goals to take the lead early in the third term.
The Crows hit back in the shadows of the final change, kicking the last three goals of the third term before a Lachlan Murphy snap gave them the lead early in the last.
But the Suns quickly wrestled control of the contest, booting five of the next six goals to secure a second straight win in Darwin.
