Echuca Steam Preservation Society Inc was granted $5000 to be used towards equipment hire for the recent Echuca-Moama Steam, Iron and Trades Revival.
Colbinabbin & District Historical Society was awarded $5000 to assist with the inaugural Colbinabbin Silo Art Picnic & Wine Festival.
Kyabram Parkland Golf Club received $2500 for hosting the Victorian Par 3 Championships.
Echuca Neighbourhood House Inc was awarded $500 to go towards decorations and materials hosting the Echuca Moama Pride Cocktail Party.
A series of community equipment grants were also awarded.
This list included:
$2000 for Rochester Cemetery Trust to purchase a defibrillator to be housed at Rochester Cemetery.
$2000 for Echuca Moama Photography Club to purchase a smoke machine, bubble machine, picture backdrops, stands and a lightbox to be used at workshops hosted by the club, and made available for club members.
$2000 for Nanneella Timmering Landcare Group to obtain specialised revegetation tools and equipment for volunteer and community use on planting days.
Two responsive grants were awarded. They were $1000 to assist with hosting the Rochester Football-Netball Club Recover and Reconnect event and $981 to the Rochester Historical & Preservation Society.
Emerging lawn bowler Jacob Brighton was awarded $200 under the junior development grants program to assist with costs as he plays at the Australian Open on the Gold Coast.
Council said the grants aimed to support and empower local community organisations and groups in their valuable work to enhance the quality of life for residents throughout our region.
