Stonnington Mayor Jami Klisaris and Councillors are pleased to announce the appointment of Dale Dickson as the city’s new Chief Executive Officer.
Mr Dickson is a highly experienced and respected leader who has served as CEO at the Mount Isa, Gold Coast and Whitsunday Councils.
A former resident of Prahran, Mr Dickson started his career at the City of Melbourne while completing a Bachelor of Business in Local Government. He also holds a Master of Public Policy and Management from Monash University and was awarded the Public Service Medal in 2014.
Mr Dickson has also served as a Board Member for the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games Organising Corporation, the Commonwealth Games Infrastructure Authority and the Gold Coast Suns.
In what was a highly competitive field, Cr Klisaris said Mr Dickson impressed Councillors with his ethos for public service, passion for innovation and experience with governance, planning and management.
“We are excited to welcome Dale to the City of Stonnington,” she said. “His record of achievement and breadth of experience make him the ideal person to lead our city as we work to deliver our One Stonnington Transformation Program and Future Stonnington Community Vision 2040.”
A former resident of Prahran, Mr Dickson said the Chief Executive Officer role presented a compelling opportunity both personally and professionally.
“The City of Stonnington and its various precincts and villages is a wonderful part of Melbourne. I consider it a privilege to be appointed the next Chief Executive Officer.
“I believe strongly in local government and its essential contribution to the liveability and economic, social and environmental sustainability of our cities and the communities within.”
“There could not be a better and more important time to lead the City of Stonnington.”
Cr Klisaris thanked Interim CEO Rick Kwasek for his leadership and the valuable contribution he has made to the city over the past seven months.
Mr Dickson will start his new role in late July.
