Chip’s Daiquiris is stopping at nothing to track down the thieves that robbed two of their store locations over the weekend.
According to a post from the original Chip’s Daiquiris, their Eunice and Opelousas locations were both robbed between Saturday night (Jun. 3) and Sunday morning (Jun. 4) just after 7 a.m.
Chip’s shared images of the Opelousas location (1240 Edith Street) that showed a door with the glass smashed in which looks like the entry points the suspected thieves used to enter the establishment.
Other images showed sliced cables that were likely used for a camera system or network of some type along with a screen grab of the suspects carrying out a safe and the DVR receiver for their surveillance system; likely what was connected to the cut wires.
According to Chip’s, the safe seen in the screengrab was “full of money.”
A photo of the vehicle, a black 2020 model Hyundai Sonata, was also posted and is the vehicle used to getaway from the scene of the crime.
Chip’s also posted a video clip of the suspects walking out with the stolen goods.
Chip’s warned that this could easily happen to any other business and urged anyone with information to come forward. Many commented that all signs point to this being an “inside job.”
According to the popular Opelousas daiquiri shop, a $10,000 reward is currently up for grabs for anyone who can provide tips or intel that will lead to the capture of those responsible for robbing them.
If you have any information contact police in Opelousas, Eunice, and Chip’s Daiquiris directly. We will be updating this post with any new information including photos or videos from the Eunice robbery if and when they are provided.
Share this post and let’s hope Chip’s can track down their property soon and bring those responsible to justice.
