The first “sod turn“ made on Tuesday 23 May marked the beginning of a life-changing construction project.
Wishlist and AUSMAR Homes have just taken the first step in building a Gympie based charity home, with Keryn Algle from One Agency, Wishlist CEO Lisa Rowe and Tony Bryan from AUSMAR completing the first turning of the sod.
The Wishlist House Gympie will be built purely on community generosity.
Wishlist CEO Lisa Rowe said they plan to build the house, auction it and then donate the proceeds of the sale to Gympie Hospital and the community.
“This is an exceptional project in many ways, and it’s certainly the first that we have done in Gympie,“ she said.
“It is the first time that we have had the land completely donated for.
“In the past, we have bought the land at cost price but this block of land has been donated to us very generously by Trish and Cos Schuh, the Schuh Family and One Agency.
“We are so grateful for the tremendous start that we have to this project, more than ever before, and what that will mean to the Gympie community on the sale.“
Over the next seven months, the four-bedroom abode will take shape over in Southside Gympie, with a planned auction by approximately February 2024.
