The famous faces are lining up for Drysdale’s Big Freeze event this weekend with two Cats ready for the icy plunge.
The pool of ice and the slide will be built at Drysdale this Sunday, with 17 local identities booked in to take the plunge, while raising money for Fight MND.
AFLW Cats Chloe Scheer and Mikayla Bowen were the last two added to the list, alongside the likes of former Cats great Andrew Bews, Geelong mayor Trent Sullivan and Addy editor Nadja Fleet.
Scheer and Bowen were hand-picked by Big Freeze Geelong ambassador and Cats hydration master Sam Moorfoot and the pair immediately got involved.
“I jumped straight on the opportunity, it is a great cause,” Scheer said.
“I love Sammy and everything he has done for the club so I thought ‘why wouldn’t I?’.”
Hard-running winger Bowed said she “felt blessed that Sammy approached us both”.
The two Cats said they were wary of the cold when they slide into the ice and West Australian Bowen said she could opt to put an extra layer under her costume.
The sliders will take off at Drysdale Recreation Reserve from 12.30pm on Sunday, in between the reserves and seniors football matches between Drysdale and Newcomb.
