Give your life defending the United States and Kansas City will remember you.
That seems to be evident in the number of memorials in the Kansas City metro area dedicated to veterans who have sacrificed their lives or served during wartime for the defense of the country.
One of those memorials is a prominent feature of the Kansas City skyline. The Liberty Memorial Tower at the National WWI Museum and Memorial was dedicated in 1926 to honor those who served in WWI.
The museum grounds will see lots of activity this Memorial Day weekend as they usually do.
There are other memorials around the metro where the war dead are remembered in solemn ceremonies. Some memorials, without the pomp, silently wait discovery to remind us of those who gave everything for this country.
Scroll trough these photos to see if you can name some of the many local memorials that help us remember those who served.
