St Kilda Football Club’s 150-year celebrations will hit the road as part of the brand-new series Joey’s Road Trip, hosted by fan-favourite and latest Hall of Fame inductee, Leigh ‘Joey’ Montagna.
Supported by Toyota, Shell V-Power, Red Rooster and Webcentral, the six-part series will see the the beloved Joey travel across the country in his Unbreakable Hilux – from the recruiting heartlands of Tasmania and Ballarat to the past and present homes of Waverley Park, Marvel Stadium and RSEA Park – to catch up with some of the Saints’ biggest names.
Among the all-star cast are current and former captains Nick Riewoldt, Ross Smith and Hannah Priest, cult heroes Peter Everitt, Lazar Vidovic and Michael Gardiner, present-day coaches Ross Lyon, Corey Enright and Brendon Goddard, and past coach Ken Sheldon.
Barry Breen and Lenny Hayes will both feature in the series’ debut episode taking place at the hallowed MCG, touching on the day of the club’s greatest moment in 1966, the triumphs and tribulations of the 2010 Drawn Grand Final, plus the dream of what is yet come.
Episode one of Joey’s Road Trip will premiere on Friday, exclusively on saints.com.au, the official St Kilda Football Club App, YouTube and social media channels.
