Twenty-three people attended and all were added to the mailing list to receive information on the project as it progresses.
The highlight of the night was the presentation by Ged Brandrick of the plans for the new art gallery to be built at 74 Meninya St, Moama.
Mr Brandrick and his team had worked on the design and, as well as the floor plan, he presented elevations and renders of what the building would look like.
It is going to be a spectacular building, with two galleries and two significant community art spaces planned.
There will also be a café and gift store.
Details will be available soon at www.bridgeartproject.com.au
The committee is expecting to submit the gallery development application to Murray River Council in the coming month and will hope to commence ground works before the end of the year.
The Department of Regional NSW has provided $4.95 million towards the gallery build. An important next step will be fundraising to raise the $1,292,390, or 25 per cent of the total building cost, required of the committee.
The committee is keen to invite everyone interested to support these efforts by joining up.
This can be done at www.bridgeartproject.com.au
Annual membership is $30.
Members are also invited to attend the monthly meetings of the steering committee held at The Mill on the second Thursday of the month at 5pm. (June meeting will be June 15.)
