San Carlo’s little half brother has stepped into the spotlight with an impressive trial that bodes well for his Bendigo outing on Tuesday.
Like his half-a-million-dollar winning sibling, Jacksboy is out of mare Bridge Player but is by Art Major and looks on track to add to his three career wins for co-trainers Rebecca Bartley and Stephen O’Donoghue.
Having won once and placed three times in his five starts this year, the seven-year-old was an eye-catcher in the first trial at Shepparton on June 1.
He found the front and got home in a 56.5-second last half to score from 68 rater Night School.
It earned a place in the Trial File Blackbook ahead of his second-up start in the Strath Hill Butcher Pace at Bendigo on Tuesday, when he will step out from gate four for young reinsman Corey O’Donoghue.
Jacksboy was one of four additions to the Trial File Blackbook this week. Scroll down for all the trials circuit highlights and Blackbook replays, with the Blackbook at the bottom of the page.

Trial 1: – JACKSBOY settled three back on the inside, moved off the pegs at the 1600m and found the front shortly afterwards. He was able to hold on and score over NIGHT SCHOOL, which led out then took cover. NOMORELYING ended up being three back on the markers from the 1300m and never peeled to the outside at any stage. He went to the line hard held and should have finished closer. JACKSBOY is racing at Bendigo on Tuesday night and must be considered as one of the leading chances. The third placed NOMORELYING backed up at Melton on Thursday night and finished third again in fast time.
