A perfect racing surface is expected at Bendigo to be betting with confidence on Wednesday.
I’m keen to play early and then wait to blast out in the last two legs of the quaddie.
Here are my best bets.
BENCOOLEN (Race 2 No 2) This is going to be a good form race but it’s going to take a good one to beat the Mick Price and Michael Kent (Jnr)-trained son of Written Tycoon. He couldn’t have been more impressive when bolting in on debut when racing right on pace and he only looks to have improved going on his two jumpouts where he could have bolted in both if let go at any stage. With an ounce of luck sliding forward from the middle gate, he’s the one to beat. BET: WIN
PERFECT ENDING (Race 7 No 10) Loved the improvement this lightly raced All Too Hard filly made from her solid debut effort at Kilmore. Stepping from 1200m to 1412m at Geelong, she got a perfect run in transit and when she eased into clear air at the 250m, she steamed home for the softest of wins through the line. The extra 100m looks perfect and she falls straight into the same dream run from the good gate, so if Jordan Childs can hold her up until straightening, expect her to explode and take some beating. BET: WIN
EAGLES CRAG (Race 8 No 5) I’m giving this imported son of Fastnet Rock one more chance so long as the track is getting back closer to a good (4) and not holding onto a wet track rating. His first two runs back from a spell were both super before getting onto a track that may have played wetter than the soft (5) rating where he failed. First run for the new stable and drawn where he doesn’t need to go back near last, he’ll be nice and fresh staying at 1400m and will be launching at them late. BET: WIN
