Please, no more! Our hearts can’t take another hit.
Another one of Perth’s beloved venues – Fremantle’s Duck Duck Bruce – has bitten the dust.
The café announced the closure in a social media post on Tuesday, with the last day of trade to be Sunday, July 16.
“Our landlord is not renewing our lease. After researching other sites that didn’t feel like home, we’ve decided to celebrate going out on top and give ourselves six months to let the dust settle.”
“Duck Duck Bruce has been an adventure born of, and sustained by love on all sides. We couldn’t be prouder of what we have made or more grateful for everyone who has worked alongside us or come in for brekkie over the past seven years. Absolute legends each and every one of you.”
While their Collie Street location is coming to an end, the café may yet find a new home in the future. IN the meantime, Duck Duck Bruce’s sister venue, Anglo-Indian restaurant Lions and Tigers will remain open:
“We’ll take the opportunity to have a Sunday lie in, pour our love and energy into Lions and Tigers and make significantly less late night carrot cake before we make any big calls on the Bruce’s future.”
Needless to say, we recommend setting an alarm if you want to get in one last pancake stack or chilli scramble!
