The oldest Beef Festival in Australia is back, kicking off this week in Casino, and with 100 events over 11 days, it’s bound to be a jam-packed week.
Casino Beef Week President Brody Lisha said: “We are thrilled to be bringing back the Casino Food Co-op Casino Beef Week for another year. This event is a celebration of our community, our history, and our love for beef. We are proud to showcase the best of what our region has to offer, and we invite everyone to come and experience the fun and excitement of Beef Week.”
The party has already started, with the Opening Ball, the Beef Week Hoe Down and the Discover Richmond Valley Fashion Parade kicking off the week.
The Beef Week Queen has been crowned, with .. taking the title this year.
But there is plenty more to come, after all, Mr Beef is yet to be crowned. It will take place on Saturday evening at the Casino RSM at 5pm.
In the meantime, the MLA Industry Dinner starts at 6 pm tonight (Thursday May 25), and tickets are $30. For those looking for something more relaxed, the Lismore Toyota High Tea will start at 10 am, with tickets available for $45. Or if golf is more your thing, try the Beef Week Golf Cup.
On Friday, get up early for Breakfast with the Butchers in the CBD. It starts at 7am. There will be sausage and carcass judging, fit farmer challenge, music and food, as well as the popular, and very unique, cow pat lotto.
Later, at 11am, the Casino RSM Club Beef Week Cup is on. Gates open at 11 am. There’s also the Casino Greyhound Cup Finals from 3pm.
The main Beef Week Saturday promises to be bigger and better with more events than ever!
Sit in the main street of Casino and soak up all the action that makes the Beef Week Saturday what it is.
This theme of this year’s the 2023 Beef Week Street Parade is “Stars of the Screen,” so get ready to see your favorite movie characters and Hollywood icons brought to life on the streets of our community.
The parade is the perfect opportunity to come together with other community groups from across the region. Dress up in your best costumes, create a dazzling float, or simply enjoy the show. Pull up a hay bale and watch the cattle competitions and auctions and learn all the ins and out of what it takes to be handed the sash of ‘Champion Steer’.
Take the kids for a stroll to the kid’s alley filled with amusement rides, market stalls, face painters and other entertainment. Listen to live music, visit the shops, and enjoy a wonderful afternoon.

The Westlawn Beef Week Rodeo is on Saturday, gates open at 3 pm.
Finally, on Monday, May 29, the Mazzars Scenic Coach Tour will start at 8 am, taking you on a journey through the beautiful Rainbow Region.
