Those looking to camp on the Mountain at the 2023 Bathurst 1000 can purchase their favourite sites now.
Campsites are now on sale for the Great Race HERE and being the 60th anniversary of the famous race being held at Mount Panorama, they are expected to sell out in record time.
“Since we told fans we were going to go on sale this morning, we have received hundreds of calls and emails from those keen to attend this year’s 60th anniversary celebrations,” said Supercars CEO Shane Howard.
“Now they are on sale, we ask fans to be ready to purchase as soon as possible as we do expect the remaining sites to sell out quickly over coming days.”
Camping is one of the many great traditions that make the Bathurst 1000 so special.
Thousands of fans turn the Great Race into a special annual holiday, soaking up the atmosphere by sleeping on the mountain itself.
Not only do die-hard fans carry on this tradition, but even some of the biggest drivers on the grid.
Tickford Racing star and three-time Great Race podium getter Cameron Waters camps at Bathurst each year and encourages fans to do the same.
“I always camp at Bathurst, I think you kind of have to, everyone goes to Bathurst to camp,” Waters said.
“It’s the biggest event of the year for good reason, it’s the atmosphere.
“I love camping and being right in the middle of that atmosphere, you can smell the smoke from the fires, and you can hear the fans at night … it just makes that weekend a little bit more special.”
All up there are six of the eight campgrounds still available at Mount Panorama with The Paddock and McPhiliamy Park already sold out.
Those looking to camp at Reid and Sulman Park must use a separate link.
Campers must still purchase a general admission ticket in addition to their camp site to attend the Great Race.
The 2023 Bathurst 1000 will be held on October 5-8.
