It is with overwhelming sorrow that we announce the untimely death of Barry Thomas Lamb, 53, of West Chester, PA. On Sunday, April 23, 2023 God took Barry into his loving arms and welcomed him into his fold with his devoted wife by his side in Lankenau Medical Center. Barry put up an amazing and courageous battle with cancer and several other severe health issues for many years, always with a smile, grace and humility.
Barry was born October 24, 1969 to be a very special person and he was. He grew up in Wilmington, DE and graduated from Brandywine High School in 1988 and attended the University of Delaware. Barry was a natural born salesman and entrepreneur and established a couple of Seafood Wholesale Companies and a restaurant in Stone Harbor, NJ, that he named after his father. Barry loved bringing bushels of crabs to family and friends and joining them in picking crabs for hours. He loved to cook and was famous for his delicious crab soup.
Barry met his true love in 1992 and they were inseparable ever since and were looking forward to celebrating their 10th Wedding Anniversary this July. Barry always enjoyed traveling to the Caribbean, Mexico, Jamaica and the Bahamas, but felt most comfortable driving with the convertible top down to quaint towns, local crab houses and other seafood restaurants along the Chesapeake Bay with his wife.
Barry had an undeniable wit and sense of humor along with a captivating smile and a glint in his eyes. Barry was a true people person and was comfortable around everyone he met. He was very personable and enjoyed talking about everything and anything, particularly sports. He was an avid Philadelphia Eagles fan, loved watching them every week and especially the Super Bowl games. Barry was extremely generous and always willing to help those in need. Barry also loved golf, summers spent in Stone Harbor with his family and fishing with his Dad. Barry will be truly missed by so many.
Barry left behind his best friend and loving devoted wife Gail Lynn (Mizer) Lamb, his dedicated parents, Nelson and Joanne Lamb; sisters Maureen (Lamb) Ogden (Joe) Wilmington, DE; Denise (Lamb) Brockwell (Tom) Palm Beach, FL; sister-in-law Judy Anderson, West Chester, PA , three nieces, Jessica, Sophie and Isabel; six nephews, Andrew, Hayden, Nelson, Winston and Drew; and three great nephews Andrew, Kaseem and Nolan.
