Details about the Barbie movie soundtrack have dropped, and it sounds like Ice Spice and Nicki Minaj have a new hit on their hands.
Aqua ‘Barbie Girl’ Remix
Ice Spice is in a new collaboration with Nicki Minaj, and they teamed up to put their spin on Aqua’s “Barbie Girl.” The hit that went viral before viral was a thing. The Danish pop group sang the 1997 song.
They also made dance hits like “Turn Back Time” and “Cartoon Heroes.” You can guarantee that this version of the song isn’t a dance version. The little clip fans hear in the commercial is not giving dance vibes.
Nicki is heard saying, “It’s Barbie if you’re still in doubt,” a bit of a double entendre because the rapper calls herself a Barbie, and her fans are Barbz. As we mentioned, this isn’t the first collaboration between Nicki and Ice Spice.
They recently collab on a track called “Princess Diana,” quickly shaping into a summer song.
‘Barbie’ Soundtrack Has Other Hitmakers
Besides the self-professed rap queen and her curly-haired buddy, the Barbie movie soundtrack might also have a song that people will be bumping all summer long. While the music doesn’t drop until July, the artist featured paints a positive picture.
Ava Max, Dua Lipa, Kali, Charli XCX, Haim, Lizzo, and Tame Impala will all have songs on the soundtrack. Even actor and Ken himself, Ryan Gosling, is featured as one of the musicians on the soundtrack. Greta Gerwig did not come to play.
Twitter is buzzing with excitement over more Barbie movie news. And according to Gerwing, “There are two tracks on the #BARBIE soundtrack with unknown artists that are yet to be announced.”
Titles Of The Tracks Released
Not only were the artist names dropped, but the titles for the songs were released, and some of them are telling. An example would be Gosling’s “I’m Just Ken” Can you guess who that one’s about?
Lizzo has a song name “Pink,” which is Barbie’s favorite color. A “Barbie Dreams” track also leads fans to believe this song will sound as unbelievable as the film looks. So far, unlike her counterpart, Margot Robbie does not have her music, but that could be why tracks 7 and 11 are missing.
When Is Barbie Coming Out?
The movie will hit theatres on July 21, and the plot is pretty simple: Barbie isn’t enough. The tippy-toe doll leaves Barbieland and ventures into the real (human) world of true happiness.
Gerwig wrote and directed the film with her partner Noah Baumbach. It also stars Helen Mirren as the narrator, Nicola Coughlan, Emma Mackay, Kate McKinnon, Will Ferrell, America Ferrera, Michael Cera, and many more Hollywood celebs.
Most news about the film has been kept under wraps up until recently, the plot of the film was not known, and fans were not privy to the all-star cast. Every little morsel that drops is exciting for Barbie fans.
