How brilliant would it be to be able to check out the Studio Trails next month, while not having to drive, and getting some special VIP action thrown in?
That’s the aim of the Creative Arts Gympie Region (CAGR) Sunday Studio Drives over four weeks in July.
A 22 seater bus will take art lovers on four different Studio Trails over four different Sundays with a host of special guests, a goodie bag and lunch and morning tea thrown in.
The first trail will take place on Sunday, 2 July, and will visit art studios on the outskirts of Gympie and travel down to Rainbow Beach and Tin Can Bay.
On 9 July, participants will head out west to studios in Woolooga, Widgee and Goomeri.
The following week, on 16 July the Sunday Studio Drive bus will tour the Gympie and Southside studios and on the last week, on 23 July, the destination will be the artists studios in Mary Valley, Imbil, Kandanga and Tuchekoi.
Over the four tours there will be lots of different artists, guest speakers and entertainers including Glenbo Craig, Joolie Gibbs, Ian McKay, Tammy Brennan, Sue Davis, and Kathleen McArthur.
Goodie bags will be included in the tour price, which include local products, artistic keepsakes, vouchers and information about the artists and studios being visited.
Artist Milly Hine is excited to welcome visitors to her home and studio and offers a chance to participate in a stencilling workshop, where visitors learn how to put their own unique stamp on things.
The Sunday Studio Drive is a partially funded community project, with a grant from Flying Arts and the Regional Arts Fund helping to secure the talent and special gifts.
Tickets for each Drive are limited to just 22, and can be purchased from Humanitix and enter the search parameters, Sunday Studio Drive for more information.
Tickets include lunch, morning tea, goodie bag and entertainment and cost $95 per person or $70 per person for CAGR members.
