Police have charged a 34-year-old Gympie man and a 43-year-old Gympie man in relation to two separate break and enters to Gympie businesses in the last five days.
At approximately 8.59pm on June 3, it is alleged that a man was observed entering a business on River Road at Gympie, after a witness heard the sound of smashing glass followed by an alarm.
A short time later, police arrived and were advised that the alleged offender was still believed to be inside the premises.
Police contacted an employee of the business, who was able to view internal cameras at the business remotely, and advised that there appeared to be at least one person inside.
It is alleged that police called for the offender to exit the business, before a man wearing a stocking over his head, exited.
A 34-year-old Gympie man was charged with one count enter premises with intent to commit indictable offence and four other offences relating to other matters in Gympie between May 23 and May 29, including one count failure to appear in accordance with undertaking, one count stealing after previous conviction, one count possessing/acquiring restricted items and one count of attempted stealing.
He is set to appear in Gympie Magistrates Court on July 17.
At approximately 9.20pm on June 6, it is alleged a man attended a business on Station Road at Gympie, and used a metal axe to break through a glass window at the front of the business and gain entry.
It is alleged the man removed cash from the register and approximately 20 vials of various animal prescription and non-prescription medications.
The owner of the business was alerted of the alarm activation and was able to view the CCTV footage remotely, and allegedly observed a man wearing a hooded jumper covering his head, removing the property.
Police located the alleged offender standing outside the front of the business, holding a plastic bag containing the alleged stolen medications and money.
A 43-year-old Gympie man was charged with one count of enter premises and commit indictable offence by break.
He is due to appear in Gympie Magistrates court on June 12.
