ALBANY – A 20-year-old city man who drove his vehicle while a woman was clinging to the hood Friday afternoon faces a reckless endangerment charge, city police said.
Police said they responded at about 12:15 p.m. to the area of Henry Johnson Boulevard and Livingston Avenue for reports that a man was driving a blue Chevrolet Cavalier with a woman on the hood. Shortly after the call, the vehicle was located by officers parked unattended in the area of First and Judson streets. A Facebook post on Two Buttons Deep appears to show the alleged incident
The driver was located nearby and taken into custody. Police said they determined the driver drove the car in the area of Henry Johnson Boulevard and Livingston Avenue at a high rate of speed while a 19-year-old woman was on the hood. It was unclear if the woman was a willing participant.
No injuries were reported during the incident.
The driver was charged with second-degree reckless endangerment, a misdemeanor, and is scheduled to be arraigned Saturday morning in Albany City Court. City police said they have been in contact with State Police over the incident and more charges are possible.
