Rochester bikes stolen
It’s been a case of “get OFF your bikes” in Rochester.
But you can’t get off or on them if you haven’t got them, which is the case in this sorry saga.
Thirty bikes valued at more than $20,000 have been stolen from a locked storage shed at the Rochester Secondary College.
Just one bike helmet and a pedal were left by the heartless thieves.
The bicycles had been donated to the school earlier this year through Variety Victoria after a submission from the school’s physical education teacher Mitch Bright.
The theft is just another punch Rochester has had to absorb after last year’s disastrous floods.
School principal Melissa Gould pointed out that with still many people relocating and not living in the town at the moment targets for thieves have been made much easier.
