Heavily armed police have descended on a Newcomb property as part of a major operation.
Unmarked cars, an armoured vehicle and specialist police officers attended Greenwood St about 11am on Tuesday.
Many officers were wearing camouflage gear and appeared to be carrying high-powered weapons.
It’s understood officers used a megaphone to order a man out of the property.
He was seen crawling on his hands and knees before he was cuffed, using cable ties, and placed in the back of a vehicle.
Two women also came out of the home and were seen speaking to police.
Victoria Police spokeswoman Katherine McLeod said officers were at the property as part of an “ongoing investigation”.
“There is no immediate risk to community safety and further information will be provided once operationally appropriate to do so,” Ms McLeod said.
Police provided no further comment on the investigation.
It comes after a Torquay man was arrested earlier this month after a targeted raid into an alleged shooting in Geelong.
Detectives seized six firearms, including a cache of 3D printed guns, during the March 9 operation.
A 27-year-old Torquay man was handcuffed and taken into custody over an incident on March 22 that saw a 55-year-old Whittington man taken to hospital after being shot on Freesia Court.
Officers from the Armed Crime Squad, Illicit Firearms Squad and Torquay Crime Investigation Unit allegedly uncovered five 3D-printed firearms, a handgun, an imitation firearm, silencer, ammunition and drugs, including methylamphetamine, cannabis and 1,4-butanediol, at his Fischer Street home.
