HORN LAKE, Mississippi – Funeral Services for Anita Joy Stubbs, 87 of Horn Lake, Mississippi and formerly of Rosedale, Mississippi was held at 2:00 pm Tuesday, May 16, 2023 at First Baptist Church of Rosedale, MS . She passed away May 11th, 2023 at her residence in Horn Lake , Mississippi with her family by her side. Visitation was held from 1pm – 2pm. Interment took place at Beulah Cemetery.
Anita Joy Stubbs was born November 6th, 1935 in Ruleville, MS; the daughter of Joe Carl Long and Jimmie Alliene Wilson. She spent most of her life in Rosedale owning several businesses in the community with her Husband Alton Stubbs. She was of the Baptist Faith and a member of First Baptist Church in Rosedale.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Alton Lawrence Stubbs Sr., son William Carl Stubbs, brother Joe Long and one Great Granddaughter Rosalie Marie Mortimer.
She is survived by, son Alton Lawrence Stubbs Jr of Horn Lake, Mississippi, daughter Anita Stubbs Russell of Hernando, MS, grand children -Miranda Jones, Heather Stubbs Mortimer, Carla Stubbs, and great grand children- Aly Jones, Carson Jones, Jackson Jones, Maddie Jones, Law Stubbs, Carter Stubbs, Gladstone Mortimer , and Maris Mortimer.
