Tottenham Hotspur shot-stopper Hugo Lloris ‘listening’ to Al-Hilal offer
Hugo Lloris, the captain of Tottenham Hotspur, is ‘listening’ to the proposal offered by Al-Hilal ahead of the upcoming transfer window, according to French outlet Foot Mercato.
The Saudi Arabian outfit are planning to triple the shot-stopper’s salary to €1.3 million per month. As such, the deal has caught the attention of the 36-year-old, with next summer just around the corner.
As things stand, Lloris is tied down to the Lilywhites until the summer of 2024. However, it is unlikely that the veteran goalkeeper will extend his stay at the North London side beyond the current campaign.
The French national signed for Spurs in the summer of 2012 from Olympique Lyon. For over a decade now, the 36-year-old has been the number one in between the sticks at the club.
However, over the last few years, the veteran goalkeeper’s performances have dipped a bit. He has become error-prone and has been found wanting at times as our first-choice shot-stopper.
Lloris has donned Tottenham’s captain’s armband for several years now. Unfortunately, the French national has been unable to win any silverware at Spurs. Although, the 36-year-old did lift the World Cup in 2018 for his national side.
Al-Hilal are one of the giants in the Saudi Pro League. Recently, a number of world-class players have made their way to the Middle East, with Cristiano Ronaldo signing for Al-Nassr.
If Lloris does part ways with the North London side in the coming months, we will evidently have to bring in a new number one. At the moment, Fraser Forster is the second-choice goalkeeper at the Lilywhites.

Lloris has given his best years to Tottenham. Given the French national’s age, it is understandable that the 36-year-old will want to cash in on the final few years of his career.
