Local footy fans have numerous opportunities to watch senior AFL games across Bundaberg this weekend.
With the South teams victorious in the recent North and South Wide Bay AFL representative match in Hervey Bay, local fixtures have footy being played at both Brothers and he Waves grounds on Saturday 20 May.
The North women’s team lost by just six points, while the North men’s team went down 5.6.36 – 14.6.92 to the South team.
Coach for the women’s North and Across the Waves Eagles team Michael Blair said they enjoyed being able to play and hoped to see representative opportunities for players in the region grow in the future.
In the current Wide Bay AFL Takalvans senior women’s competition Waves are at the top of the ladder and are yet to lose a game.
Bombers and Power take up the second and third ranking while Brothers Bulldogs are hungry for their first.
In the men’s competition, the Bombers are riding high and are also undefeated.
The Waves and Brothers are sitting at second and third while Bay Power are after their first win of the season.
At Brothers Sports Grounds the Bulldogs will take on Hervey Bay Bombers with reserves taking the field at 12.15pm, followed by the senior women’s game at 1.45pm and the senior men’s game at 3.15pm.
The Waves will take the field at Frank Coulthard Oval against Bay Power with reserves playing at 12.30pm, the senior women’s team running out at 2pm and the senior men’s game wrapping up the day from 3.30pm.
