America’s Brady Bunch house is on the market in Los Angeles for $5.5. million (AU$8.4m).
11222 Dilling Street Studio City was used as exterior shots for the iconic sitcom in its original run from 1969 – 1984, but was purchased from owners by HGTV in 2018 for a renovation series. A Very Brady Renovation featured six original cast members, Maureen McCormick, Eve Plumb, Susan Olsen, Barry Williams, Christopher Knight and Mike Lookinland, renovating the interiors to match the on Paramount’s original Soundstage 5 sets.
The network spent $1.9 million to transform the house to resemble “4222 Clinton Way” even adding a second storey to the home originally built in 1959.
LA Times reports an online listing invites buyers to “own a piece of pop culture history,” and shows images of its detailed and polished 5,000-square-foot interior, which includes five bedrooms and bathrooms.
HGTV said the home will come with “many of its contents, including customized pieces such as the green floral living room couch and the credenza with a 3-D printed horse sculpture.”
Reportedly it is the 2nd most photographed home in the USA after the White House.
A portion of the proceeds from the sale will “help provide up to 250,000 meals for Turn Up! Fight Hunger.”
But remember if you become the lucky purchaser, mom always said, ‘Don’t play ball in the house!’
