Seems like the spring season flew by in the blink of an eye – it’s hard to believe the playoffs are underway this week! Whether teams were trying to secure a playoff spot, or just finish the season on a positive note, these players stepped up to the plate. Check out the standout stars of the past week in lacrosse, softball, and baseball.

Stars of the Week in Softball
Dakota Fanelli, Archbishop Wood: The Vikings senior recorded her 500th career strikeout in Tuesday’s win against Neumann-Goretti. Fanelli tossed a three-hit shutout with 11 strikeouts in the five-inning game. In addition, Fanelli has already surpassed the Vikings’ single-season strikeout record that she had previously set last season with 162.
Maddy Borowski, CB South: The senior pitcher was at her best facing Catholic League-leading Archbishop Wood. Borowski gave up just six hits and struck out 18 batters en route to the 8-1 victory. She also recorded her 300th career strikeout during the game. Against rival CB West, Borowski pitched a four-hit shutout while striking out 13 to record her 100th strikeout of the season. To close out the week, Borowski pitched a one-hit, one-walk shutout against Tennent, striking out 11 in the 7-0 win.
Lexi Waring, Council Rock South: The sophomore didn’t allow a hit or earned run through seven innings, giving the Golden Hawks’ the edge in a 2-1 win over Souderton. Waring also shut down high-powered Archbishop Wood, holding the Vikings to one hit and no walks while striking out nine in 4⅓ innings of relief in the 4-3 victory. Over the past week, Waring has given up one earned run and struck out 35 in 20 innings of work.
Megan Klein, Bensalem: The Owls’ junior recorded her 100th career hit in Bensalem’s win over St. Hubert’s. Klein had two hits, two stolen bases and scored three runs in the game.
Maura Yoos, Archbishop Wood: The junior was 4-for-4 with three runs scored in a victory over Neumann-Goretti, and then notched her 100th hit on Friday against CR South in the Vikings’ final game of the regular season.
Nora Sidorski, CB South: Called upon to pinch hit, Sidorski responded by hitting a three-run homer to help the Titans to a 7-0 win against Tennent.
Liz Hippel, Abington: Hippel hit a walk-off RBI double to give the Ghosts an 11-10 win over Upper Merion. She was 2-for-3 with two RBIs and two runs scored.
Grace Helbling, Pennridge: The Rams’ pitcher was dominant in the circle, recording 19 strikeouts against Villa Joseph Marie. Helbling allowed two hits and one walk in the 7-1 win. In addition, she went 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI at the plate. She gave up just two hits and one earned run while striking out 11 in a victory over CB East.
Averi Dockery, Pennridge: The sophomore slugger launched a two-run homer to give the Rams a lead they wouldn’t give up in a win over CB East. She later earned the victory in the circle against CB West, pitching a three-hitter while striking out 12 to secure the 2-1 win.
Alyssa Tooley, Hatboro-Horsham: Tooley allowed four hits and one earned run while striking out 14 to lead the Hatters to a 9-2 win over Upper Moreland. She recorded her 100th strikeout of the season in the game and also had two hits and two RBIs.
Ava Beal, Quakertown: Beal went 4-for-4 with a double and two RBIs in the Panthers win over Springfield.
Camryn Pickering, Bensalem: The Owls’ outfielder stepped into the circle for her first varsity pitching start with the team missing its two regular starters due to injury. Pickering earned the win after tossing three strong innings against St. Hubert’s.
Lina Sponheimer, Bensalem: Sponheimer continued to pile up the hits with a three-hit, five-RBI outing in the Owls’ win over St. Hubert’s.
Carli Maha, Quakertown: Maha led the Panthers’ hit parade with three hits, four RBIs and three runs scored in a 16-6 victory over Wissahickon.
Liz Santry, Upper Moreland: Santry smacked a two-run single in the seventh to give the Golden Bears a 4-3 win over Springfield.

Laney Freiband, Pennsbury: The Falcons’ pitcher gave up five hits and one intentional walk to secure the 2-1 win against division rival CR South. Pennsbury clinched the SOL Patriot Division championship with the victory.
Morgan Volgraf, Neshaminy: Trailing by three runs, Volgraf hit a grand slam to take the lead against CR North in a game that ended in a 9-8 Neshaminy win in extra innings.
Molly Sheehy, CR North: Sheehy drove in six runs on a pair of homers and the catcher also threw out a Neshaminy runner on a stolen base attempt. Neshaminy ended up with the win in the eighth inning. In a victory against Truman, Sheehy was 2-for-3 with a home run and two RBIs.
Alyssa Wiley, Upper Moreland: Wiley was 3-for-3 with a double and three RBIs in the Golden Bears win against Cheltenham. Over the past week, Wiley has eight hits in 13 at-bats and five RBIs.
Molly Milewski, Conwell-Egan: Milewski was almost an impossible out for the Eagles in their recent games. Against Neshaminy, she had four hits, including a pair of doubles and three RBIs, and against Little Flower she was 3-for-3 with a double, both wins for the Eagles.
Ahlana Sesar, Conwell-Egan: In her return to the lineup from injury, Sesar went 3-for-4 in a win against Little Flower. She followed that with a 4-for-4 game in a triumph over Truman.

Stars of the Week in Boys Lacrosse
Tommy Bryson, Harry S. Truman: Bryson made sure the Tigers ended their season on a good note. The goalie made 18 saves in net and recorded his 500th career save in the Tigers’ 10-7 win over William Tennent. The win ended a 34-game losing streak for Truman.
Tyson Bui, Souderton: Bui scored the game-winner in overtime to give the Indians a thrilling 11-10 triumph over Lansdale Catholic in their regular-season finale. He finished with two goals and an assist.
Patrick Berkery, Harry S. Truman: Berkery scored seven goals to lead the Tigers to a 10-7 win over Tennent. He also contributed 11 ground balls, one assist and forced a turnover. He scored five of his goals in the second half, as the Tigers bounded back from a 5-3 halftime deficit.
Billy Houser, CR South: The Golden Hawks’ goalie turned away 22 shots on goal to secure 9-7 win over Holy Ghost.
Kevin Messina, Upper Moreland: Messina led the way with six goals in the Golden Bears’ win over Tennent.
Sam Lewis, CR North: The senior scored six goals, assisted on four more and tallied his 100th career point in a win over Haverford.
Austin Hahn, CB West: Hahn delivered the game-winning goal with a minute remaining in the second overtime period to give the Bucks a 9-8 victory against Wissahickon. He finished with four goals and won all four of his faceoffs.
Kolby Ranniello, Pennsbury: He scored six goals and assisted on three others to lead the Falcons over Quakertown.
Stars of the Week in Girls Lacrosse
Gabby Mayo, CB South: The Titans’ goalie recorded 16 saves to secure the win against CR North. Mayo earned her 400th career save last week.
Kira Chirichella, Villa Joseph Marie: The Jems’ freshman goalie finished the season with a milestone. Chirichella recorded her 100th career save against Archbishop Wood, and concluded the season with 111 saves, averaging six per game.
Riley Borgman, Pennsbury: Borgman scored the game-winning goal in overtime to give the jubilant Falcons a 13-12 victory over Pennridge in an SOL National battle.
Addy Geary, CB South: Geary had a hand in eight Titans’ goals in their win against CR North, scoring five and assisting on three more.
Olivia Meakim, Upper Moreland: The back-and-forth battle between the SOL American leaders ended with Meakim’s game-winning goal in overtime. Meakim had two goals in the 10-9 victory as the Golden Bears handed Upper Dublin its first conference loss.
Margaret Tresler, New Hope-Solebury: The Lions’ Tresler saved her best for last, scoring her 100th career goal in the Lions’ final game of the season, a 16-8 win over Upper Moreland. She finished with three goals, two assists and three draw controls. Earlier in the week, Tresler scored four goals in a win against Cheltenham.
Reagan Cummins, Upper Moreland: Cummins led the way with four goals and two assists to help the Golden Bears secure a share of the SOL American title for the first time in 22 seasons with a win over Tennent.
Kayla Stressman, North Penn: Stressman scored four goals to help the Knights clinch a share of the SOL National title with a win over Pennsbury.
Kaya Mallon, CR South: The goalie made three saves to record the shutout win against Bensalem.
Stars of the Week in Baseball
Kevin Bukowski, CB West: The Bucks’ leadoff hitter accomplished the rare feat of hitting for the cycle. He was 4-for-4 at the plate and drove in six runs while scoring four in the Bucks’ 15-5 win over Quakertown.
Aiden Robbins, Holy Ghost: Robbins stepped to the plate in the top of the 10th inning and crushed a solo home run to give the Firebirds the go-ahead run in an 11-9 win in extras against St. Joe’s Prep. Robbins finished 3-for-5 with a walk and two runs scored.
LJ Wolff, Abington: The senior pitcher threw a complete-game no-hitter in Monday’s win over Wissahickon. Wolff walked two batters, and struck out 16, including six in a row to close out the 2-1 win. The run against Wolff was unearned.
Trevor Lugara, North Penn: Lugara threw a complete-game four-hit shutout to give the Knights a 5-0 win against Truman. Lugara struck out seven and needed just 70 pitches to complete the victory.
Sean Lee, Conwell-Egan: Lee delivered on the mound and at the plate in the Eagles’ PCL win against Lansdale Catholic. The pitcher threw a complete game, giving up five hits and one walk while striking out six, and was 3-for-4 with two RBIs in the 9-2 victory.
Leor Kedar, CR North: Kedar hit a pair of triples as part of his 3-for-3 day at the plate in the Indians’ 7-2 victory against Steinert.

Mason Probition, Quakertown: The Panthers’ reliever was called on with the bases loaded, and proceeded to get three consecutive outs, including two strikeouts, to secure the win against Cheltenham.
Brian Curry, Council Rock North: Curry’s single sent the game-winning run across the plate to give the Indians a 4-3 walkoff win against Truman.
Pat Dougherty, Council Rock North: Dougherty pitched a two-hit shutout to lead the Indians to a 1-0 win over Neshaminy. Dougherty struck out five and didn’t walk a batter in the victory.
Jack Hoetzel, Abington: Hoetzel gave up four hits while striking out eight in 6⅔ innings to secure the Ghosts’ 6-1 win over Lower Moreland.

Nate Kelly, Upper Moreland: Kelly went 3-for-5 with a home run and two RBIs to lead the Golden Bears to a win over Cheltenham that secured the SOL Freedom title for Upper Moreland.
Austin Allen, Harry S. Truman: The freshman earned his first varsity win with a dominant performance against Bensalem. Allen tossed a one-hit shutout and struck out 13 in the victory, which ended a five-game losing streak for the Tigers.
Kaden Pasternak, Souderton: Pasternak hit a go-ahead home run in the top of the seventh inning to give Souderton the win over CB East. He also had a double and a single.
J.P. DiGuiseppe, Archbishop Wood: DiGuiseppe went 2-for-2 with two RBIs and two runs scored in the Vikings’ win over Germantown Academy. In a victory against St. Joe’s, he had two more hits, including a double, and one RBI.
