New Lambton FC 1-3 Maitland FC
Maitland have moved into the top four and strengthened their spot for a finals place after defeating New Lambton 3-1 on Sunday.
It was a hard-fought opening 20 minutes at Alder Park before a goalkeeping error helped Maitland’s Indianna Auddino to open the scoring.
The Golden Eagles were able to get the equaliser they were searching for thanks to Cass Davis crossing the ball to her former Newcastle Jets teammate Tara Andrews in the second half.
The game looked up for grabs with both teams trying to snatch the win to help them advance up the table.
Mailtand’s Chelsea Greguric was able to break the deadlock in the final 10 minutes of the game, with Sophie Stapleford putting the nail in the coffin, scoring shortly after.
This victory has moved Maitland up to fourth spot, whereas New Lambton remain sixth on the table.
Newcastle Olympic 6-0 Mid Coast FC
Newcastle Olympic were able to respond from their first defeat of the season last week after a convincing 6-0 win over Mid Coast on Sunday.
Jemma House scored a first half hat-trick at Darling Street Oval before adding a fourth goal to her name in the 49th minute.
Elodie Dagg and Danielle Nicol were also able to add to the winnings, with Nichol converting a penalty in the last 10 minutes of the game.
Olympic were able to cling to second place on the table while Middies remain in seventh spot.
Broadmeadow Magic 2-0 Adamstown Rosebud JFC
Adamstown Rosebud’s three game winning streak came to an end on Sunday after suffering a 2-0 defeat by table leaders Broadmeadow Magic.
The hosts started the match strongly at Magic Park with Lucy Jerram opening the scoring in the fourth minute of the match.
Adriana Konjarski was able to bury a penalty in the 65th minute to help cement the win for Magic.
The result saw Rosebud drop out of the top four down to fifth place, with Magic edging clear into first by three points.
Warners Bay FC 1-8 Charlestown Azzurri FC
Charlestown were able to turn things around from their loss last week, thrashing Warners Bay 8-1 on Sunday.
Azzurri pounced early, with Jorja Brown and Emily Diaz scoring within the first 15 minutes of the match at John Street Oval.
Charlestown substitution Cassie Corder made an immense impact scoring a hat-trick in last 20 minutes of the game.
Warners Bay continues to search for their first win of the season suffering their 10th defeat in as many matches. Azzurri remain third.
