The WHL Championship series will move to the Emerald City with the Seattle Thunderbirds hosting the Winnipeg ICE for the next three games of the best-of-seven series.
The series is tied at a game apiece with Winnipeg winning game one 3-2 on Friday night in front of 5531 fans at Canada Life Centre. The Thunderbirds rebounded with a 4-2 win on Saturday.
Game three is tonight in Kent, Washington, with game four set for tomorrow. Game five will be on Friday and games six and seven, if needed, will be back in Winnipeg on Sunday and Monday.
Stars complete NHL’s final four
The Dallas Stars advanced to the NHL’s Western Conference Final after hanging on for a 2-1 win over the Seattle Kraken in game seven of their series Monday night.
Roope Hintz and Wyatt Johnson scored for the Stars, who will face the Vegas Golden Knights in a rematch of the 2020 Western Final that was played in the Edmonton bubble. Dallas won that series in five games to advance to the Stanley Cup Final against the eventual champion Tampa Bay Lightning.
The Western Conference Final will start on Friday in Vegas, while the Eastern Conference Final between the Carolina Hurricanes and the Florida Panthers will start on Thursday in Raleigh.
Manoah struggles, Judge homers twice as Yankees beat Jays
Alek Manoah walked a career-high seven batters as the Toronto Blue Jays fell 7-4 to the New York Yankees to open a four-game homestand Monday night.
Aaron Judge homered twice as the Yankees jumped out to a 7-0 lead, but the Jays rallied with four runs in the eighth inning with Whit Merrifield, George Springer, Bo Bichette and Vladimir Guerrero Jr. driving in runs.
