Been hankering after a trip to Hong Kong? This could be your chance.
This comes as part of a campaign sponsored by Airport Authority Hong Kong that will provide 500,000 discounted tickets to global visitors.
Now that travel restrictions to Hong Kong have been lifted, it’s part of the Hong Kong Tourism Board’s “hello Hong Kong” campaign, which aims to entice tourists back to the city.
The cheap fares will be available exclusively to Cathay members to buy on Monday, May 29, 2023 at 12:00PM AEST.
It’s not just cheap fares, either. The Hong Kong Tourism Board and the tourism and hospitality sectors have put together “welcoming offers” from over 16,000 outlets across the city for tourists. Among them, at the initial stage, at least 1 million “Hong Kong Goodies” visitor consumption vouchers will be given out.
These vouchers cover a free welcome drink at participating bars, restaurants, and hotels, or a cash voucher to be redeemed in the transportation, culinary and retail sectors, as well as attractions.
To gain access to this exclusive voucher offer, you must be a Cathay member. You can sign up for a free membership on Cathay Pacific’s website here.
As for the flights, 6020 discounted round-trip air tickets to Hong Kong will be available to Australian residents. Tickets will be available on Monday, May 29, 2023 and sold on a first come, first served basis. Members must visit Cathay Pacific’s campaign website and sign in using their Cathay membership details to purchase them.
Dominic Perret, Cathay Pacific’s Regional General Manager for Southeast Asia & Southwest Pacific, says of the sale, “As Cathay Pacific and Hong Kong emerge from the past three challenging years and markets begin to recover, we are excited to be rebuilding both our company and our home hub… we are proud to be part of this campaign to promote Hong Kong in Australia, and we hope our customers experience all the rich offerings that Hong Kong has to offer.”
Karen Macmillan, Director, Australia, New Zealand & South Pacific of Hong Kong Tourism Board says, “With a diverse culture, unique attractions, exciting nightlife and delicious cuisines, there’s something for every traveller [in Hong Kong].”
Vivian Cheung, Chief Operation Officer of Airport Authority Hong Kong, says, “Various new services and facilities are in place at Hong Kong International Airport, and we are looking forward to providing passengers a brand new airport experience.”
