Ipswich horse racing tips & form
—
Race 1. (12:33) Follow Ipswichturfclub Maiden (1200m)
#5 – Ioane
Ioane is on debut for Annabel Neasham after some pleasing trial form, so we’re putting him on top in the opener.
The two-year-old son of Savabeel placed at the Warwick Farm and Canterbury trials, so he looks ready to fire.
Drawing wide isn’t easy but he only needs luck.
Race 2. (13:08) Tab Maiden (1200m)
#2 – Bangetta
Bangetta ran third on debut at Muswellbrook as a $6 chance, so punters should expect odds around that mark.
The Kris Lees-trained two-year-old filly is better for that run under her belt, and although there could be some smart types in this field, she has upside.
Take the value odds available.
Race 3. (13:43) Blondies Powder Coating Maiden (1350m)
#11 – Easy Company
Easy Company is getting close to breaking through after posting consecutive placings this preparation.
The three-year-old filly by The Brothers War ran second at Doomben before placing at Ipswich, so the form checks out.
Carrying 55kg is ideal and she could run at value odds.
Race 4. (14:18) The Lawn Shed C1 Handicap (1350m)
#4 – Sardegna
Sardegna was too good for them at Ipswich last time out and he’s good enough to win again.
The four-year-old son of Sebring owns a win and two placings from four starts, so it has been a positive start to his career.
Barrier 17 isn’t ideal, but he should go close with any amount of luck.
Race 5. (14:53) Seven Family Day C3 (1700m)
#3 – Kinetic
Kinetic comes off back-to-back wins, so he’s the form runner of the field.
The four-year-old won at Ipswich narrowly two back before winning again at Eagle Farm, so it’s the best form for this level of racing.
He should run at short odds.
Race 6. (15:28) Tab Ipswich Cup Tix BM68 (1200m)
#12 – Wegobam
Wegobam capped off consistent form with a win at Ipswich last start, so she’s worth backing again.
The five-year-old mare by Sebring paid $3.20 when winning, and she doesn’t rise in class overly much for this race.
Punters should expect similar odds on race day.
Race 7. (16:03) Ipswichturfclub Handicap (2200m)
#4 – Dark Chill
Dark Chill looked good when winning at Doomben two starts back and he went close at Eagle Farm last time out.
The three-year-old gelding gets 1.5kg off his back, which drops his weight to 53.5kg, making him awfully tough to hold out.
Barrier five is ideal and we’re not leaving him out.
Race 8. (16:37) Festival of Horsepower BM75 (1100m)
#1 – Moscini
Moscini comes off four consecutive wins and that form is tough to overlook, despite it coming against much easier opposition.
The seven-year-old owns 15 wins from 62 starts, and three of those wins have come over the distance, so the stats read well.
He’s worth including at the price.
