Corowa RSL Bowls Club extends deep sympathy and condolences to Maureen, her family and friends and all at the Corowa Civic Bowls Club on the passing of Rob Hutson in Corowa last Sunday. Rob was of late a member of Corowa Civic Bowls Club.
Maree Jones, a member of Corowa RSL Bowls Club, participated in the Ovens and Murray/Goulburn Valley Challenge matches in Shepparton last Saturday. Well done Maree for having been selected to play and for playing well on the day. Ovens and Murray did not win the Challenge, although Maree’s rink fared well with one win, one loss and a draw.
Last Wednesday the club hosted its annual Big Cuppa Day. More than 30 participants entered. Players enjoyed brilliant autumn sunshine, followed by a sumptuous afternoon tea produced by club members.
Corowa RSL Club donated first prize and a big cake to raffle. Winners on the day with 2 from 2 were Razz Porter, Sam Nixon and Roseann Prentice. Runners Up just 2 shots behind were Tony Coughlin, Robyn Fierenzi and Maree Jones.
The club raised $535, a fantastic effort. Rosemary Baddeley has been the driving force behind the Big Cuppa Days and over the years has been responsible for more than $11,000 raised at the club for cancer research. Well done Rosemary.
