- Matt Stone caught up in neighbourhood row
- He invited friends for dinner moments before
Shocking footage has captured the moment an owner of a motor racing company became locked in a heated dispute with neighbours.
Matt Stone, who owns Matt Stone Racing, and his wife had invited a family from down the road for dinner at Helensvale, on the Gold Coast, on Sunday night.
His friend’s teenage sons were then walking home when a resident on the street gave chase to them believing they were trying to break into a home.
Mr Stone claims the children were aggressively threatened before the motor racing team owner, his wife and the parents of the teenagers tried to intervene.
Footage taken on the night shows tensions boil over as the neighbour is confronted on his doorstep.
A woman in the video is seen holding a pole prompting the neighbour to shout back.
‘You’re picking up a pole are you? You gonna f***ing hit me?’ he said.
‘Get off my property c***. What the f**k are you going to do? I’ll take all four of you.’
Mr Stone released a statement shortly after the video was shared.
‘The parents of the children and I then went to visit the man and my wife was pushed and assaulted, tripping to the ground,’ he said.
‘The man then started to video us and was very abusive. I reached out to block the man from videoing us.
‘At no stage were there any punches from either party. This neighbourhood dispute is regrettable.’
Daily Mail Australia contacted Queensland Police for comment.
Matt Stone started his own V8 supercars racing team after leaving his father’s team, Stone Brothers Racing in 2011.
The team started in the Super2 Championship division form 2011 and received a place in the Super Championship division in 2018.
Jim Stone and his brother Ross were inducted into the Supercars Hall of Fame after illustrious careers owning Stone Brothers Racing.
The team was racing between 1998 and 2012, winning championships from 2003 to 2005 and the team championships in the same year.
