A number of consultants are set to speak at this month’s IoT Impact conference in Sydney, including representatives from KPMG, Deloitte, GHD and recently established digital twin advisory GC3 Digital.
The International Convention Centre in Sydney’s Darling Harbour is due to host the 2023 IoT Impact conference on the 23rd of May, with several speakers from the consulting community set to make an appearance.
Among those on the bill are Rhiannon Yetsenga of Deloitte, and KPMG colleagues Ken Holder and Shabir Ahmadya. GHD Digital practice director Steve Lennon will also feature as a panelist, as will GC3 Digital founder Gavin Cotterill.
With more than 400 delegates expected to attend, the full-day IoT Impact conference will this year delve into the latest developments toward greater economic and social connectivity and how organisations operating in sectors such as health, energy, water, manufacturing, agriculture and technology are navigating the shift. In addition to networking opportunities, the event will include demonstrations, roundtables, workshops, and multiple panels.
A power sector director at KPMG in Sydney for the past year and a half, Shabir Ahmadya will participate in a presentation on the balance between electricity generation and demand in the transition to renewables, which will require a huge amount of real-time data gathered from across the grid. Ahmady holds a Ph.D in power systems from the University of Sydney, where he works as a part-time research affiliate, with previous engineering positions at Jacobs and WSP.
Ken Holder is a director within KPMG’s Infrastructure, Assets & Places division, which was integrated in 2021, before which he was a leader in the consulting firm’s IoT practice in Sydney. Prior to his six years with KPMG, Holder spent a decade at smart product development company MOX, contributing to his thirty years of industry experience. In addition to his professional roles, Holder serves as chair of the IT Alliance conference host’s collaboration workstream.
A manager in the analysis and policy team of Deloitte Access Economics with a focus on the Technology, Media and Telecommunications (TMT) sector, Rhiannon Yetsenga will deliver an afternoon keynote alongside two industry peers on education, skills and building workforce capability. Yetsenga has been with Deloitte since early 2019 after completing an economics degree with University of Technology Sydney, and also serves as the treasurer of the Women in Economics Network.
A member of GHD’s global leadership team, Steve Lennon heads up the professional services firm’s digital business in Australia, joining from management consultancy Nous in 2021. Boasting more than three decades of professional experience, Lennon has also held senior leadership roles at Cognizant, CGI, Fujitsu and Arup, with earlier career stints at DXC and PwC. Lennon will feature as part of a panel on the subject of ‘Creative Construction’, with a focus on transport infrastructure.
Gavin Cotterill is the founder of GC3 Digital, a recently established Melbourne-based consultancy focused on digital twin technology for assets and systems management in the built environment. Cotterill brings more than twenty years of industry experience to his new venture, including leadership roles at PCSG, Aurecon, and AECOM, and will share his expertise during the panel session, ‘Smarter precincts: the convergence of planning, Internet of Things and digital twin’.
