Junior ‘A’ Hurling League: Nenagh Eire Og were the first team to book a place in the North Junior ‘A’ Hurling League final after an exciting 0-31 to 3-18 win over Ballinahinch in Shalee last Friday.
Eire Og enjoyed a 0-14 to 1-9 half time lead, but Ballinahinch made a bright start to the second half, scoring a goal only one minute into the half.
Eire Og responded well and would go onto lead for the remainder of the game – albeit Ballinahinch did score a goal in the 59th minute to claw Eire Og’s lead back to one. However, Nenagh finished well, scoring four of the last five points to secure a final berth.
Anthony Walsh was Eire Og’s top scorer with nine points (5 from play) with Aodhan O’Connor and Cian Crowley also scoring five each from play.
Roscrea will join Nenagh Eire Og in the final after their 1-27 to 2-22 extra time win over Toomevara last Monday. Two Shane Nolan goals were the difference between the sides at half time of normal time with Toome leading 2-8 to 0-10.
Roscrea made the better start to the second half and had the game level by the 41st minute – 2-11 to 0-17. Ros went onto score 1-2 without reply in the middle to gain a five point lead but Toome finished strongly, clawing back the Roscrea lead with a Shane Nolan free six minutes into injury time levelling matters – 2-18 to 1-21.
Roscrea held a slender 1-26 to 2-22 half time lead in extra time and added the only point of the second half to secure a two point victory. Liam Seacy was a prominent scorer for Roscrea whilst Shane Nolan finished with a tally 2-10 (1-8 frees) for the greyhounds.
Roscrea and Nenagh Eire Og will now meet in what is a repeat of the 2021 League Final which Roscrea won 1-17 to 1-12. The Final will take place this Friday, 23rd June at 7.30pm in Borrisokane. Entry is via either tap and go or tickets which are available to purchase at .
Watch Centre Junior ‘B’ Hurling Championship: Group 2 of The Watch Centre sponsored North Junior ‘B’ Hurling Championship commenced last Sunday.
Toomevara had an impressive 2-15 to 1-6 victory over league champions Newport. Toome had an impressive first half performance – leading 1-8 to 0-3 at the break with Tim Flaherty scoring their goal on the twelfth minute. Newport scored their goal in the 38th minute but it wasn’t enough to change the momentum of the game with Toome’ on top throughout. Flaherty scored his second goal in the 49th minute and finished with an impressive tally of 2-8.
Kiladangan had a comprehensive 4-18 to 0-13 win over neighbours Burgess last Sunday in Kilcolman. The visitors stormed into the game with Paul Seymour scoring a hat-trick of goals in the first ten minutes. They enjoyed a 3-11 to 0-7 half time lead with Noel Gleeson finishing well for Kiladangan’s fourth goal in the 53rd minute.
Round 2 of Group 2 takes place this Sunday 25th June with both games throwing-in at 2.00pm – Newport will host Borrisokane whilst Kiladangan v Toomevara will take place in Puckane.
Group 1 and 3 will commence this weekend.
In Group 1 – Silvermines will host Templederry Kenyons this Friday, 23rd June at 7.30pm while Lorrha host Moneygall in Tony Reddin Park at 8.00pm.
Group 3 sees Knockshegowna hosting Ballina this Friday, 23rd June at 8.00pm in Ballingarry whilst Portroe host Nenagh Eire Og on Sunday 25th June at 2.00pm.

Nenagh Eire Og will face Roscrea in Borrisoleigh, Kilruane MacDonaghs will take on Borris-Ileigh in Roscrea whilst MacDonagh Park, Nenagh will be the venue for the clash of Toomevara v Ballinahinch.
