THE Bend Motorsport Park will deliver a Saturday night concert at its annual Supercars event for the first time this year.
The South Australian venue has announced a pair of Australian bands – The Choirboys, and Kingswood – for the August 19 spectacle dubbed ‘Rocking the Murray’.
Saturday general admission tickets, which include the concert, will be made available for $49 in a 72-hour flash sale starting 4pm ACST (4:30pm AEST) this Saturday.
In further good news for fans, new bus services have been announced specifically for The Bend SuperSprint.
A free bus will operate between Murray Bridge and The Bend, while $10 return buses will run between Adelaide and the circuit (105km out of the state capital).
“The new entertainment offering and expanded bus service to support the increase in traffic in the region is all a part of our goal to put on an event that the area is proud of and that’s easy and enjoyable for all who attend,” said The Bend CEO Alistair MacDonald.
“We’re excited to provide race fans and eventgoers with a complete event experience for the whole family and expand the offering for the 3500 people we have staying on site during the event.”
Blanchard Racing Team driver Todd Hazelwood, who hails from SA, was at the circuit today for the various announcements.
“Having just finished up in Darwin, there’s only two more stops on the calendar until we’re back in South Australia at The Bend to put on a show for all the local fans in my hometown,” he said.
“It’s going to be incredibly interesting for everyone involved to see how the new-spec Gen3 Supercar rolls out at The Bend.”
Next up on the calendar is the Townsville 500 on July 7-9.
