Police are investigating after shots are believed to have been fired at a car on a busy road in Solihull. The alleged incident took place on the A45, a major route that connects Solihull, Coventry, Birmingham and Birmingham Airport.
Detectives investigating the incident said that a car was reportedly shot at from another vehicle travelling in the opposite direction on the A45 near Damson Parkway. The force said they received reports from motorists that they heard “three bangs” overnight on June 15.
The alleged incident took place in the early hours, close to the A45 junction with Damson Parkway. West Midlands Police have launched a full investigation, and have appealed to anyone with dashcam footage, or any witnesses, to urgently come forward.

Police released an appeal on Monday June 19. A force spokesperson said: “Were you driving on the A45 near Damson Parkway on 15/16 June? We are appealing for information after a car was reportedly shot at from another car travelling the other way.
“Overnight between Thursday and Friday, motorists reported hearing three bangs, believed to have been gunshots, from a car heading west on the A45 near the junction with Damson Parkway.
“We are asking anyone who was driving in the area and who may have information/dashcam footage to get in touch with us via Live Chat quoting log 13 of 15-June.”
