TFH Hire Services and Queensland Raceway have teamed up to host a trackside Race For Research charity luncheon next month.
The charity event, with V8 supercars on track, is in support of the Perry Cross Spinal Research Foundation and will host a two course meal, five hour beverage package and charity auction and will be held at Queensland Raceway on Thursday 13 July at 10.30am.
The event will be MC’d by the legendary motorsports track presenter Bennie Bishop, who has more than 20 years of expertise in the business and will feature special guests including Supercars driver Todd Hazlewood and Supercars III driver Jet Johnson as they compete with players from the Gold Coast Suns and Queensland Reds for the fastest lap times around QLD Raceway.
TFH National Partnerships and Marketing Manager Carolyn Oldano said the Charity Event will go a long way to raise awareness on a cause that affects everyday humans around the world.
“TFH Hire services are delighted to be hosting an event that supports such a great cause. Spinal cord injury affects more than 20,000 people across Australia and millions around the world. Raising funds to see a clinical trial commence is the goal. We are proud to be supporting the Perry Cross Spinal Research Foundation. Hope is a good thing, and for those living with a spinal cord injury, this is the hope they need.”
Tickets include a food and beverage package, photo opportunities and live viewing of the event. There will be prizes up for grabs on the day which include Gift Vouchers, Merchandise Packs, Football Corporate Box experience and Inner Sanctum tour, V8 Supercar race experience, signed Jerseys and lots more.
Supercars III driver Jet Johnson was looking forward to the event as this is something close to his family.
“I’m very excited to support the “Race for Research” charity day as it’s supporting a charity that is extremely close to my heart, the Perry Cross Spinal Research Foundation. My uncle became a Quadraplegic at the age of 16 and since then he has done an enormous amount of work with Perry Cross and his foundation. There would be nothing more satisfying to see than a Paraplegic or Quadraplegic take their own steps again.”
Jarrod Harbrow, former Gold Coast SUNS player and current Indigenous programs lead at the club who will make a guest appearance on the day said he was looking forward to supporting our partner TFH and such a significant cause for spinal cord research.
“I’m excited to challenge some of the rugby players and hopefully come away with a win for the SUNS.”
Members of the public can bid on the live auction before 06/07/23 for your once in a lifetime opportunity to drive a V8 Supercar for the Reds or Suns race team on the day. Yes you read that right… YOU will form part of the RACE TEAM!
All proceeds from the Charity Event will be going towards the Perry Cross Spinal Research Foundation.
