AgShows NSW, the peak body representing the 192 agricultural shows in New South Wales, has announced the late Lyn Goulder from the Bowral Show Society as the winner of the 2023 Dedication Award.
This award recognises individuals who have displayed exceptional loyalty, commitment, and dedication to their respective show societies.
“Lyn dedicated over 70 years of her life to the Bowral Show Society, serving as a competitor, volunteer, and committee member in various roles, including Secretary, Treasurer, and Ringmaster,” President Jill Chapman said.
“Her untimely passing in February in a farm accident saddened the community, but her contributions to the Bowral Show will be forever remembered.”
“Her commitment and contributions have left a lasting impact in the Southern Highlands and the show industry as a whole.”
Lyn’s award was received by her two daughters (pictured below with fellow finalists and AgShows NSW Vice President Jodi Nelson-Gleeson).
The finalists for the Dedication Award also included Phillip Close from Hawkesbury District Agricultural Association and Margaret Enright from the Hunter River Agricultural and Horticultural Association – Maitland.
“Phillip is a long-standing member and Director of HDAA and has played a crucial role in the development and management of the Hawkesbury Showground.”
“While Margaret was the first female President of Hunter River Agricultural and Horticultural Association and has been an active member for nearly four decades and has tirelessly supported the Maitland Showground and its activities.”
“These exceptional individuals have demonstrated unwavering dedication to their Show Societies, contributing countless hours and invaluable expertise.
