Liverpool might not have been in action for a while now, but the updates around who could be representing the Reds next season keep on dripping through.
Today, the main talking point has been Nice starlet Khéphren Thuram, 22, who is set to play for France U21s at the European Championships this week. That tournament, which will also feature Gabri Veiga and Manu Koné — two more players that Liverpool is keeping an eye on — kicks off on Wednesday.
Thuram has sparked intrigue for a couple of reasons, with one being his social media activity, and while he is set to be away with his national team this week, he is certainly one to watch from a Liverpool perspective.

You can expect plenty more of that — and plenty more questions about his future — as he looks to take the European Championships by storm, and, coincidentally, it is exactly 10 years to the day since Thiago Alcântara scored the first ever hat-trick in the final of that tournament as Spain beat Italy 4-2.
Thiago starred for his country against the Italians in a game that featured the likes of Koke, Álvaro Morata, Lorenzo Insigne… and Fabio Borini and Alberto Moreno.
Here are the two Liverpool.com stories from today that you shouldn’t miss, starting with a look at Thuram and ending with the latest transfer speculation from around the world.
Khéphren Thuram sparks excitement
Nice midfielder Thuram appears to be the most likely player to follow Alexis Mac Allister through the door at Anfield, with Ibrahima Konaté certainly keen for it to happen.
Asked about the move today, Konaté said he ‘hoped’ that a deal could be done, while he has previously labeled Thuram as being like a ‘little brother’ to him.
Thuram had earlier sparked excitement among Liverpool fans by liking a social media post about Trent Alexander-Arnold’s performance for England the other day. You can read more about that by clicking here.
Man City ‘beaten to $33m transfer’
Liverpool has won the race to sign Wolfsburg defender Micky van de Ven for a fee of $33m (£26m/€30m), according to Spanish site El Nacional. He was also supposedly wanted by Manchester City.
The 22-year-old Dutch star would be the ideal fit for playing the left-sided role at the back for Liverpool in the new-look system, while he also has the ability to carry the ball out from the back in a similar way to Joël Matip.
David Comerford explores that in this piece looking at some quotes from Van de Ven, who is a big Reds fan, while Matt Addison has the latest transfer round-up here.
