Drone footage shows the new road layout for a section of Cornwall’s A30 ahead of its reopening on Monday morning. The A30 has been closed between Scorrier and Carland Cross all weekend with lengthy diversions put in place.
The closure has been for huge steps to be taken in the dualling scheme from Chiverton to Carland which is set to be completed this winter. The closure was also said to allow for the removal of the notorious Chiverton Cross roundabout.
The road closed at 8pm on Friday and will reopen at 6am tomorrow (Monday). The closure has resulted in lengthy diversions put in place and high volumes of traffic on back roads, particularly around the Truro area.

Now, drone footage taken on Sunday afternoon at around 2pm shows the road taking shape. Curiously Chiverton Cross remains in place, but with a section of road now going through the middle of it. Works vehicles can be seen travelling around the area as travel continues as normal on the Newquay road metres away.
The footage was taken by Matt Witts, an amateur drone pilot from Redruth.
It is worth nothing that this video was taken with a full 16 hours until the road reopens with construction workers set to work through the night.
CornwallLive hasn’t been informed by Highways England of any delays to the planned reopening.
