Defending champions aren’t all that common in the Rice Planters Amateur field, but Aidan Kramer is returning in hopes of defending the title he won in sudden death a year ago.
The 54-hole tournament will be held June 21-23 at Snee Farm Country Club with daily tee times starting at 7:30 a.m.
Kramer heads a field of 75 players that have been announced for the Rice Planters (thericeplanters.com), which celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2022. An additional five players will be determined through an 18-hole qualifier on June 19.
Kramer, who plays for Georgia Tech, beat Yellow Jackets teammate Andy Mao on the first hole of sudden death last year, making an 18-footer for birdie after Mao’s birdie try came up short.
Kramer finished the tournament at 66-68-71—205, 11 under par.
