Australian cricket fans will have the chance to hear from some of their greatest players at a special Ashes event at Lancaster Rooms in June.
The iconic Ashes series has been a fiercely contested battle between Australia and England since 1882 and continues to capture the imagination of fans across both nations.
The evening will be hosted by Star FM‘s Scott van der Linden and guests will be treated to a two-course dinner, beer, wine and soft drinks, while the first test match of the 2023 Ashes series will be aired live from the Lancaster Rooms.
The event is being held on the 16th of June, 2023, at the Harrup Park – Lancaster Rooms.
The event will celebrate the rich history of the Ashes series, with the four cricketing greats sharing their thoughts on the upcoming 2023 series.
Accompanied by a raffle, the event aims to raise funds for junior cricket and to help cover partial costs to send a select few to participate in the Brisbane Premier League Competition.
The event comes after the announcement of the Whitsunday Rays, our region’s latest sports side led by former Australian skipper Tim Paine, which will compete in the Queensland Premier Cricket League.
Paine, who recently announced his retirement from first-class cricket, has been named as the captain of the team, adding to the excitement and buzz surrounding cricket in Queensland.
Tickets for this not-to-be-missed event are priced at $170 per ticket or $1600 for a table of 10. The ticket price includes a two-course dinner, beer, wine, and soft drink.
This event is a fantastic opportunity for cricket lovers to celebrate the Ashes, reminisce about the greats of the game, and help support the development of future cricketers.
The Ashes event, along with the recent announcement of the Whitsunday Rays, highlights the continued passion and love for cricket in the region.
