A man has died after being hit by an articulated lorry in Mayo this morning.
The collision happened at Knockroe in Bunniconlon around 7.40am.
The pedestrian, aged in his 40s, was seriously injured and taken to Mayo University Hospital, where he has since passed away.
The driver of the lorry, a man aged in his 60s, was not injured.

Gardai have closed the road for a forensic collision investigation, which is expected to be conducted later today. Local diversions are currently in place.
An appeal has been launched for witnesses to come forward.
A Garda spokeswoman said: ”Gardai in Ballina are currently at the scene of a fatal road traffic collision that occurred at Knockroe, Bunniconlon, Co Mayo this morning Saturday, 17th June, 2023.
“The collision occurred at approximately 7.40a.m. and was between an articulated lorry and a male pedestrian.
“A male pedestrian, aged in his 40s, was seriously injured and removed from the scene to Mayo University Hospital. He has since passed away. The Coroner has been notified and a post mortem will be conducted in due course. The male driver, age in his 60s, was uninjured.
“The road is currently closed and local diversions are in place. Garda Forensic Collision investigators will conduct their examination of the scene later today.
“Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
“Gardaí are appealing to persons travelling on the L6612, Bunniconlon to Enniscrone Road between the hours of 7.30a.m. and 8a.m. this morning and any road users with video footage (including dash cam) is asked to make this available to them.
“Anyone with information is asked to contact Ballina Garda Station 096 20560, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda station.”
