This week’s SmackDown In A Nutshell is simple : it’s time for Jey’s big decision.
After last Friday, Roman Reigns needs to know…will there even be an Uso left in the Bloodline?
Jimmy made his decision at Night of Champions, which was then cemented by the Tribal Chief.
But this week, it’s time for Jey’s big decision. Paul Heyman has indicated that the door is open still for Main Event Jey.
Reigns even said last week that “Jey will fall in line”. But…will he?
And…that is not all.
2 weeks from now, SmackDown happens in London ahead of Money In The Bank.
We will have a tag team gauntlet match to determine the next opponents for the men’s tag titles, in London.
Plenty of other MITB hype, so let’s get to it. It is…
Time For Jey’s Big Decision : SmackDown In A Nutshell
Let’s crack open this Nutshell and see what happens!
Best Match of the night:
I love nights like this, when we get a few good ones, and a tough choice.
But…
I am going to go with the gauntlet match. Oh, sure, I have some gripes.
Wish that the Street Profits weren’t the first ones out (and/or that they lasted longer).
Hit Row and Gallows and Anderson seemed to get taken out way too fast, but I get it, it’s a TV match.
Overall…really good TV match.
Worst match of the night:
Zelina Vega and IYO SKY deserved a bit more time to cook.
Love that Vega got the win…just wish it was more than a 3 minute match.
Commentary of the Night:
Star of the Night
Main event Jey Uso did not disappoint.
Spot of the Night:
Absolutely an easy call.
Jey built up to this moment. And everything he was saying was crushing Jimmy and sounded like he was staying.
He reminded Jimmy that he was out…then announced that he was out too…and drilled Roman with a super kick to remove any doubt.
The brothers then added two double super kicks, to Solo and Roman, for good measure.
Jobber of the Night:
If you blinked, you missed their time in the gauntlet match. Hit Row has to be the choice here.
Upset of the Night:
I honestly figured we’d get a win for the Brawling Brutes in the opener, but instead it is Pretty Deadly sitting, well, pretty…as the new #1 contenders.
Considering we’ve heard WWE leaders are high on the pair, this supports that. Not saying that they will win gold that fast…but they now have a shot when SmackDown hits London.
Holy Sh** Moment of the Night:
All the angst and tension between Bayley and IYO SKY? That might have just boiled over.
Bayley has often accepted matches on IYO’s behalf. This week, it was SKY’s turn to do so, but it was a big match to accept.
She set up Bayley versus Shotzi, next week, for Bayley’s slot in the women’s ladder match.
Though, the show really ended on the biggest holy sh!@ moment.
Botch of the night:
Maybe it’s minor…but I’ve never been a massive fan of the Waller Effect as a show. It ate a bunch of time tonight, and we could have easily had Charlotte and Bianca cutting promos without him.
Or, to be blunt…he wasn’t much use tonight.
LOL Moment of the night:
Laughed when IYO accepted Shtozi’s challenge against Bayley.
Noteworthy Moment:
In spite of Roman getting the ugly new pixel-swap belt…Heyman still has to carry the other two around.
Honestly, not sure how I feel about that…but I don’t think I like it right now.
Overall lowlights:
Not liking a short women’s match, but the result was good. I have a good feeling about Zelina heading into London, so maybe it all works out.
Overall highlights:
Opening was good.
LA Knight and Santos Escobar…also good.
Snuck in there? The mixed tag was even good…nice to see Kross getting a win.
The Bloodline, as we knew it, is gone.
We knew it was coming…but it was still good, and we also know there’s more to come.
After the final bell:
Another good show…and while I like SmackDown at 2 hours…you could almost start to see a need for a third. I don’t want one, but some nights are just so good, and not enough time.
